Squash Ladder Rules
Be sure to check this over before you begin!
1. Find people and challenge them via email, from the VCAA website. As this will be the primary mode of contact between you and everyone else on the ladder, it important that you check to make sure your email on the site is correct.
2. Challenge someone anywhere on the ladder for the first three weeks. This means that until Jan. 30th, you can challenge anyone anywhere on the ladder to establish your position on the ladder. After Jan. 30th however, you can only challenge someone up to two places above you.
3. After Jan. 30th, you can only challenge some one that is up to two places above you on the ladder. See above.
4. If you challenge a player and win, you will swap places with that player. If you challenge someone and lose, your position remains the same, and you can not challenge that person again until you have challenged one other person.
5. All challenges will be made via email, and must cc vicsquashladder@gmail.com, so the organizers of the ladder will be aware of the challenge.
6. You must accept any and all valid challenges, i.e. from anyone before Jan. 30th and anyone within two levels of yourself after Jan. 30th. Failure to accept and appear at a match will result in a forfeiture of the match and an appropriate loss shall be recorded. If, for any reason, you can not attend a match you previously accepted, you must notify your opponent with at least 24 hours notice. Any extraneous absences for emergency reasons can be appealed to the deciding bodies of the Squash Ladder via email at vicsquashladder@gmail.com
7. Each match that is to count for the squash ladder will consist of three games. The winner of two of the three games will receive the "Win" on the squash ladder.
8. Each game will use a "Serve" or English style scoring system - you must have the serve in order to win the point. Each game shall be to nine points, and the winner must win by at least 2 points.
9. Handicap will be assessed as warranted. Almost everyone on the ladder listed their experience level as "beginner", so I don't foresee handicaps being necessary. However, we reserve the right to place handicaps as warranted.
10. The Ladder will run until the end of March. The top three players at this time will be notified and receive prizes.
