Call for Nominations: Shaftesbury Creative Writer-in-Residence 2022-23

Victoria College in the University of Toronto invites nominations for the Shaftesbury Creative Writer-in-Residence, for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Nominees should have an established track record of creative writing in any genre, including national and international recognition; teaching and mentoring capabilities; and the ability to make a positive contribution to the Victoria College community by engaging students in literary citizenship.

The Shaftesbury Writer-in-Residence will lead a 12-week seminar or workshop and participate in other activities that foster a dynamic environment for creative writing at Victoria College. These may include readings or public lectures, mentoring student writers, and participating in events connected to the College’s program in Creative Expression & Society. Victoria College is strongly committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes nominations of racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.

Letters of nomination should address the nominee’s excellence and achievements as a writer and potential to have a positive impact on the Victoria College community. Please include a brief literary CV of the nominee if possible.
