How Meal Plans Work
- A meal (or swipe) allows entry into Burwash Dining Hall (all-you-care-to-eat for that visit) or can be used at Ned’s Café.
- Burwash Dining Hall serves 19 meals per week (three meals on weekdays and brunch and dinner on weekends and holidays) and is AYCE.
- Standard and Basic Meal Plans operate on a declining balance, where each meal used reduces the total remaining meals.
- Meals can be used interchangeably at Burwash Dining Hall or Ned’s Café for the Basic and Standard meal plans.
- Flex Meals (guest passes) can be used by the plan holder or for guests and are valid at all dining locations.
- Ned’s Express is an after-hours option (8 p.m. to 8 a.m.) located at our residence services desk.
Meal Plan Policy
- All-Access meal plan allows:
- One meal a day at Ned’s Café
- Four take-out meals per week in the dining hall
- Ten meals per week at Ned’s Express (two-hour interval required between meal swipes)
- All-Access meal plan members have a two-hour time restriction between swiping at Ned’s Café and Burwash Dining Hall.
- All-Access meal plan members have a two-hour time restriction between back-to-back take-out meals.
- Declining balance plans allow a maximum of two meals per sitting at Ned’s.
- Unused meals from the 2026–2027 academic year will expire after the last meal period in April 2027, with no carryover for unused meals.
- Unused Vic Dollars carried over from 2026–2027 can be used until the final meal period in April 2028. Carried-over Vic Dollars are taxable.
- Any Vic Dollars carried over from the 2025–2026 academic year must be used by the last meal period in April 2027.
- Refunds will not be issued for unused meals or expired Vic Dollars.
- Vic Dollars and meals cannot be interchanged or substituted for each other. Unused meals cannot be converted into Vic Dollars.
- The deadline to change your meal plan is Friday, Sept. 18, 2026.
Meal Service Dates
- Regular meal service starts with brunch on Sept. 5, 2026.
- The final meal of the fall term will be dinner on Dec. 22, 2026.
- The first meal of the winter term will be brunch on Jan. 9, 2027.
- The final meal of the winter term will be dinner on April 29, 2027.
