In Memoriam: Father Edward Jackman
Victoria University flew its flag at half mast on June 21 in honour of Father Edward Jackman Vic 6T2, Hon. 2T0. He passed away on June 18 at the age of 81. Jackman was an avid supporter of Victoria and the University of Toronto, in addition to many other universities. He was the vice-chairman of the Jackman Foundation, a former Dominican priest and secretary-general of the Canadian Catholic Historical Association.

2020 Distinguished Alumni/ae Award: HyeRan Kim-Cragg Emm 0T6

Dr. HyeRan Kim-Cragg Emm 0T6 the 2020 winner of the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award for her impressive achievements in preaching and religious education, including postcolonial, feminist and anti-racist theories to address the urgent issues of our time.

2020 Service Award Winner: Omar Patel Emm 1T7

Adieu to Jo-Ann Graham
Emmanuel College bids a fond farewell to Jo-Ann Graham. Graham joined the College in 2014 as an administrative assistant to past principal, Mark Toulouse. Her prior position was that of executive assistant to the director of Mississauga’s Academy of Medicine, U of T. At Emmanuel, Graham was promoted to executive assistant to the principal, working for past principal, Phyllis Airhart, and current principal, Michelle Voss Roberts.

Welcome, Elicia La Valle!
Emmanuel College is pleased to welcome Elicia La Valle as the new executive assistant to the principal. La Valle was previously on an 18-month contract with Victoria University’s Office of Alumni Affairs & Advancement. Before joining the University, she worked as a product marketing manager for a wine importing agency. She attended the University of Waterloo and has a BA in English literature.

Congratulations to Associate Professor Emeritus Fred Graham
A Distinguished Service Award was presented to Fred Kimball Graham, a member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) since 1966, during the convocation ceremony at the biennial National Organ Festival (August 8-12) sponsored by the RCCO in Hamilton.
