Students Meet Editors Working in Media and Publishing at CES Event
“We usually focus on making art, or on the end product,” said Maria Cichosz, an assistant professor of literature and creative writing who teaches in Vic’s Creative Expression and Society program (CES) and is also director of the Victoria College Writing Centre, a student resource in the Registrar’s Office. “Often, we don’t think about the long intermediary process.” She was introducing a recent Vic event that offered students the chance to meet with professional editors at various stages of their careers, in order to better understand the work editors do and how to become one—or how to approach an editor as a writer.

$350,000 Gift Endows New Lecture at Victoria College
A new lecture series that will offer students, faculty, staff and alumni at Victoria University and the broader University of Toronto community unique perspectives from public figures with stature in the fields of law, economics, diplomacy, social justice or advocacy will be launched next year, thanks to a gift from Stephen Coxford Vic 7T4. The $350,000 gift by the Victoria College alumnus is a significant contribution toward the University’s campaign, Defy Gravity: The Campaign for Victoria University. Mr. Coxford serves as a volunteer member of the campaign cabinet.

How Trauma-Informed Pedagogy Will Strengthen Equitable Classrooms
Emmanuel College will strengthen its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment by providing training for trauma-informed approaches in teaching to its faculty and staff. The new initiative is possible thanks to a grant from the Wabash Center, which seeks to enhance education in theological schools in the United States and Canada.
